I choose the state of Hawaii because i would really like to learn about it. Such as learning about how many volcano have erupted or how many they have. There are lots of things that i would like to learn about Hawaii and that is why i choose Hawaii as my state on the ring of fire.

Kevin's introduction:
The country that I chose is Hawaii. I chose this country because it is apart of the ring of fire and also because I want to learn more about Hawaii ( I've been there once). What I know about Hawaii before I do any research is that they have a tropical climate in Hawaii. It is very hot and humid there. Hawaii has a lot of beaches and it is made of several islands.

nick's introduction:

I also know that there are lots of rain forests in Hawaii. I also know that there are 6 main islands in Hawaii. Lots of people surf there. There are also a lot of beaches in Hawaii. I also know that there is a tropical climate. And that’s what I already know about Hawaii.

Landforms:Lush, green islands of Hawaii are the tops of submerged volcanic mountains that are above the ocean that are apart of a chain of that stretches 4,989 km from Hawaii, all the way to Aleutian Trench in North Pacific Ocean.
The Aleutian Trench (or Aleutian Trough) is a subduction zone and an oceanic trench which runs along southern coastline of Alaska and adjacent the waters of northeastern Siberia off coast of Kamchatka Peninsula. The Aleutian Trench forms part of a boundary between two tectonic plates. Here, the Pacific Plate is being subducted under the North American Plate at an angle of nearly 45 degrees.

Most of the islands are atolls (except the big islands), inactive stumps of volcano rocks surrounded by coral reefs.

wildlife:
They have Hawaiian monk seal's, humpback whales, Hawaiian tree snails, Kamehameha butterfly, Hawaiian Honeycreeper, the Hawaiian Limpet, pacific green turtle and pueo (Hawaiian short eared owls). Hawaiian monk seals are one of the only two mammals that are found only in Hawaii. Hawaiian tree snails, slow-moving and isolated on island ridges and lush valleys, exploded into a variety of shapes and colors. Humpback whale newborns are 11 to 16 feet long and can weigh up to 3,000 pounds.'I'iwi (ee-EE-vee) uses its long, sickle-shaped beak to probe for nectar in native lobeliad flowers, 'ohi'a blossoms and insects and larvae. Young caterpillars of Kamehameha butterflies protect themselves by a cutting flap of leaf, pulling it over themselves, securing it with silk to make a shelter. Hawaiian limpets with a squat, dome-shaped shell, can deflect pounding waves powerful enough to sweep unwary pickers out to sea.Green sea turtles swim agilely, but on land they are cumbersome.Pueo's (Hawaiian short eared owl's) soft, specialized feathers help it hunt in silence.

Hawaii is very hot and humid all year round. It's apart of U.S.A. The beaches are great for swimming and surfing in the Pacific Ocean. They have a wide variety of plants and animals. The islands of Hawaii are on the Ring of Fire, which means they get a lot of earthquakes and eruptions from the volcanoes scattered all over the islands.

Nick’s Conclusion:
The most important or interesting things I would like others to know about this culture is that Hawaii is a hot spot. This means that Hawaii was formed under water, by volcanoes. This means that Hawaii is an island nation. Making Hawaii surrounded with water. The Native Hawaiians use the water to go fishing and well as we all know surfing. The Hawaiians also go scuba diving and lots of other things. Hawaii's capital city is Honolulu.
